San José San José, town (1994 est. pop. 14,170), SW Guatemala, on the Pacific Ocean. It is a rail terminus and a major Pacific port of Guatemala.
Quezaltenango (kāsältānäng`gō), city (1994 est. pop. 90,801), SW Guatemala. The city is the metropolis of the western highlands (it is 7,500 ft/2,286 m above sea level) and the second city of Guatemala.

About 40% of the population is under 15 years of age.
That fact alone almost dictates that if you are going to minister in Guatemala, at some point you have to include this largest segment of the population.
There are between 23 and 53 indigenous language groups depending on which study you use. But all agree that  Quiche' is the largest.
